MULTIMEDIATIONS is the CAPE Africa Platforms flagship education initiative.
It is an extraordinary experiment in open education and creative transformation and is integral to the ongoing process of CAPE 2007 and X-CAPE.
Since its launch in early 2006, Multimediations has brought together a diversity of players from the cultural field (artists, academics, educators, students, and creative industry professionals) to explore the complexities of the African cultural world from the perspective of contemporary Cape Town.
The initiative embraces the potential energy and creative intellect of an emerging generation of South African culture-makers. It comprises of a continuous programme of lectures, collaborative research, and intensive skills workshops offered free to the entire creative community of Cape Town.
For many of the Multimediations participants, X-Cape represents a critical testing ground for work they developed through their participation in the Multimediations programme.
Multimediations will continue as an ongoing programme after CAPE 2007 and X-CAPE in May.
